Mr. Sean Cummins
Mr. Cummins was a 2016 graduate of Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and his Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. Following graduation, he was a Life Skills teacher at Mount Union Area School District for 4 years. In the hopes of becoming a leader, Mr. Cummins went on to obtain an Administration Certification from Shippensburg University. He successfully completed his certification in May of 2020. Mr. Cummins continued to pursue a leadership position in which he could collaborate with teachers, improve education, and increase student knowledge.
In October of 2020, Mr. Cummins accepted an administrative position as the Curriculum Coordinator for grades 6 – 12 here at Southern Huntingdon County School District. Along with this, he is the district Truancy Officer and Act 44 Coordinator. His philosophy of education is that a positive and safe learning environment, student engagement, and communication are the keys for increasing student learning and achievement. In addition, we must meet the needs of all students and prepare a curriculum that allows these individuals to be successful in the classroom.
