Dual Enrollment – Juniata College

Juniata College offers a dual-enrollment program for high school students from Huntingdon County and the surrounding area. Eligible high school juniors and seniors may take one course per semester (maximum of 4 courses) at a reduced tuition rate (currently $100 per credit hour), or at no cost for students who are eligible for free or reduced lunch at their high school.

Student eligibility and readiness for college-level course work is determined by their high school guidance counselor or instructional supervisor. All College policies regarding course registration and tuition and fees are applied. Tuition does not include fees for labs, field trips, supplies, books, or other incidentals.

Summer 2022 Courses (May 23-Aug. 14, 2022):

Dual-Enrollment Tuition & Fees:

For Fall Semester 2022 and Spring Semester 2023:  The reduced tuition rate for dual-enrollment students is $100 per credit hour. If a student qualifies for a free or reduced school meal plan, students may be eligible for a complete tuition waiver. To qualify for dual-enrollment pricing, a student must be attending high school as of the start date of the course.

For Summer Term 2022: The reduced tuition rate for dual-enrollment students is $100 per credit hour. There is no complete tuition waiver based on school meal plan status available during the Summer Term. To qualify for dual-enrollment pricing, a student must be attending high school as of the start date of the course or have graduated from high school in spring/summer 2022.

NOTE: Tuition does not include course fees for labs, field trips, technology, or supplies. It also does not include the cost for textbooks or other required course materials, or other incidentals. Billing statements are sent directly to the student, not to the high school.

How to Register for Classes:

Students must complete an online Visiting Student Registration Form. On the form, we ask the student to provide information (name, title, email, phone) about the guidance counselor or administrator who manages the dual-enrollment program at your schools. We will be contacting you to verify that the student is in good academic standing and if they qualify for free or reduced meal plans. Once we have that information, the Registrar’s Office will process the request and send confirmation of registration to the student, parent/guardian, and school guidance counselor/administrator.

NOTE: Dual-enrollment students will be registered for Fall Semester classes in early- to mid-August after our new full-time, degree-seeking students register. Please encourage your students to list alternate courses in the event that they are unable to get into their first preference.

COVID-19 Information:

Dual Enrollment students are required to have the full COVID vaccine series/boosters or to have an approved medical or religious exemption to participate in traditional in-person classes at Juniata College. More information on providing documentation or applying for exemptions will be provided over the summer.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at registrar@juniata.edu or 814-641-3165.
