PA Act 44 of 2025 (formerly Senate Bill 246), the “Parental and Employee Notification of Weapon Incidents” law, requires Pennsylvania public, private, and nonpublic schools to notify parents, guardians, and employees within 24 hours of a weapon being found on school property, transportation, or at a school event. Effective January 6, 2026, this law mandates notification even if the incident did not result in a threat to safety.
