Mr. Joel Snyder
I am a 1989 graduate of SHC. I graduated from Juniata College in 1993 with a B.S. in Secondary Education/Mathematics. After working as a substitute teacher during the 1993 – 94 school year, I worked for the next few years as a Pharmacy Technician in both the retail and hospital settings. I even had the opportunity to milk cows on a dairy farm in St. Thomas.
My first full-time teaching position was during the 1997 – 98 school year at Northumberland County High School in Virginia. The following year I began my teaching career at SHC. After four years, I left SHC to teach at Southern Fulton High School, only to return to SHC two and a half years later.
My wife Lori and I are the proud parents of a blended family that has five sons (Derrick, Luke, Zack, Todd, and Isaiah), one daughter (Elizabeth), three daughter-in-laws (Ahna , Allison, and Trisha), an indoor cat (Sox), and MANY outside cats. We are also blessed with three grandchildren (Gabby, Jacob, and Joseph). When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. I also serve as the pastor for the congregation of the Valley Point Church of the Brethren in Blacklog Valley.
My course load this school year includes Algebra I, College Algebra, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
